Inspirational Wednesday: Van Gogh bike path

Dutch designer Daan Roosegaarde and construction company Heijmans have teamed up to create a beautiful solar-powered bike path, based on Van Gogh’s painting ‘The Starry Night’. The 600-meter route opened two weeks ago in Eindhoven as an early start to celebrate the 125th anniversary of painter’s death, which falls on July 29, 2015. The bike path is coated with a special paint that charges up during the daytime and glows at night. The project was funded by the government and is expected to become a selling point for tourists, interested in exploring the region where the artist was born.

The upcoming year will be full of events to celebrate the life of the famous painter and we think it’s so great to start it off in such a creative, yet practical manner. Click here to read more about this project.
