De Stadskantine is a restaurant in Amsterdam, which is an ideal place to work, meet and eat. The prices are fixed, therefore the main target group is the urban crowd. High quality meals are served to an audience with little time and budget in an informal contemporary environment which is a healthy alternative for fast food. DAY was approached to develop a clear, recognizable and strong brand identity in line with simplicity which represents the atmosphere of the restaurant. Implementation costs needed to be minimal.



DAY focused on using simple production techniques: a strong font and a clear communication system. All of these elements helped match this identity with the restaurant.



De Stadskantine was an instant and successful hit. Simplicity and efficiency were the main communicated messages, which made the place look urban and trendy.
